That’s the Last Straw: By Rage (An alter of mine)

Born in a small town,

In a land far off.

Grew up the youngest in quite a large family.

Yet somehow never knew what love means at all.

Traveled the country,

Oh’, traveled the world.

Searching for love and intimacy.

Only trouble seemed to unfold.

And being the youngest,

Had my share of pain.

May not have learned to love,

But sure did learn the meaning of shame.

It was not their fault, I’d say.

It’s generational, they’d say.

We all make justifications, excusing it away.

As much as we did, we all still bled.

Oh’, we all still bled.

You say I’m the bad one because I reacted.

You call me crazy, invalidate my senses and how I feel.

That’s the last straw.

In addition to the terrible things you do,

You lie, hurt and you steal my soul,

Expecting me to act as though it never happened.

Well, I see you.

Know that I do.

But I won’t react like before.

Because I ain't at all like you.

No, I ain't at all like you.

People got to know truth.

Gotta' know that just cause' you family, you don't own me.

No, if you knew better for me,

What's best for me,

You wouldn't have tried to destroy me.

Against this, there ain’t no law.

Only love in my heart I got for you.

You need to get right.

Cause’, know that God’s seeing you too.

From the bayou to the city lights,

He had his share of drinking and fights.

It’ll happen that way, they said.

In his blood, they said.

Even as a young’n, he saw it all.

The perpetuation of the great Biblical fall.

Adam, Eve set the ball rolling.

For the Fall was familial,

And great has it affected y’all.

And there’s a fall that is greater.

It’s the perpetuation of it’s going onward,

Ever rolling ball of shame.

30, 40 years pass like an image in a dew drop.

Now, he’s all alone.

Nearly to the point of missing home.

Now, sitting and laying his back against a willow tree,

He lights calmly a cigarette,

Closing his eyes and sinking gently into his head.

You say I’m the bad one because I reacted.

You call me crazy, invalidate my senses and how I feel.

That’s the last straw.

In addition to the terrible things you do,

You lie, hurt and you steal my soul,

Expecting me to act as though it never happened.

Well, I see you.

You need to get right.

Cause’, know that God’s seeing you too.

Memories returning to him, this is true.

Had he the choice, he’d send them to the moon.

His eyes flutter and he cringes at the hurt,

Shedding tear after tear.

‘Is it all there is of life?’ he mouths.

And oh’ so quietly, a sparrow flies toward him,

Landing at his side.

As if in answer to his thoughts,

It gazes up at him and cocks his head.

Flying off, the sparrow drops something at his feet.

And reaching out, he noticed it is a marigold.

Leaning back and looking up,

His eyes readjust and focus upon the most beautiful smile.

A beautiful young woman standing before him,

Holding in her hand a bouquet of marigolds.

Smiling at each other, they slowly and gracefully fell in love.

You say I’m the bad one because I reacted.

You call me crazy, invalidate my senses and how I feel.

That’s the last straw.

In addition to the terrible things you do,

You lie, hurt and you steal my soul,

Expecting me to act as though it never happened.

Well, I see you.

From that day, he’s met his best friend.

This good old boy is setting straight his life.

Got a job, even got baptized.

Seemed now even the memories didn’t bother him no more.

He’s breaking the cycle.

A good old boy, breaking the cycle.

Jehovah liberated him and set him free.

He took his burden upon Himself.

A little compassion with himself showed that he needed the help.

Man and women are made to help one another.

Complementary.

Until one day, he himself had a family,

Living out in the country.

He raising his family to know Jehovah,

Giving them the childhood he never had.

He’s breaking the cycle.

Just a good old boy, breaking the cycle.

Unconditional: Thoughts in poetry by George. A part of me:

Unconditional loyalty. Seems like even if I try, I cannot scare you away. Not actually trying to scare you away. Just seems to happen that way. I feel like the Beast because of anxiety. You seem like the beauty, altogether too good for me. And I feel so ugly. And it’s not just because of my appearance but because of the way I reacted. How could it possibly be that you see through it all? Good Lord, I am feeling so unworthy of your love. Still, it’s seeming that the more I question my worth, the more you love me. And the more I feel I am scaring you away, the more you find me attractive. The more you love me. Just want you to know I find you remarkable. I cannot get enough. I find you so beautiful. And it’s as though you’ve been training for decades just in preparation for our love. You take my heart up in your fingers. Oh, my heart yearns for you. It aches for you. Pleasantly. All in chastity. Yet, the chastity has created for us the greatest foundation of love that can be imagined. Giving us an opportunity to get to know the treasures we both hold within our hearts. You do possess quite a beautiful and rich treasure of love within your heart.

Beast. Yet you make me feel like such a king. Want you to know that since the day you’ve come into my life, you’ve been setting me on fire. Want you to know that knowing you has opened my heart like a waterfall. Setting free all of the mes who are in me. I cherish everything about you. Your heart is a mirror of my own. And I ask God daily what merited me to find love in such a way that the majority on earth shall never ever find themselves. How can I repay you, God for offering me in you, such unconditional loyalty, such unconditional love. Ruv. I am a little frightened yet overjoyed at the thought that I couldn’t even scare you away. Didn't even fantasize that friendship could be so deep. Like two children, loving in purity. Want you to know that my heart belongs to you. Entirely. Even with limitation. Restriction. No other could come close. You set a crown upon my head. You sit my tookis upon a throne. By the pureness of the ruv you offer me, setting ablaze beneath my heart in all I do. Nothing would make me more joyful than to grow elderly at your side, picking edible berries. And doing it all into eternity.

Chance would be a fine thing: a song by Kershaw (one of my alters)

It's been a long time since we've been feeling safe.
A window to yesterday and a time passed
Strengthened by the generations before it.
A foundation of prosperity,
Of supermarkets overflowing,
Of gasoline reservoirs overflowing,
Of checkbooks overflowing.
Yesterday's now gone,
A fading image.
Rear-view mirror.
Liberty used to be a thing worth fighting for,
Worth dying for.
Now the universities usin' it to mop up the floor.
O' good Lord, we know you gonna' set things right.

How much longer will it be?
How much worse can it get?
Mama', what's going to happen?
Liberty, is she really free?
What about the lives it cost to keep her?
Who's going to set us free?
Free as we yearn to be?
At a moment like it,
Jehovah says to me,
"I got you."
Oh' Lord, He's got me.
Christ creatin' new life in me.
Oh' Lord, He's got me.
He's even got liberty.
God knows, someday soon, she'll fly again.
Fly like an eagle.
Soaring prominently.
Liberty gonna' return.
They'll see through the lies.
See through the shame.
Liberty's gonna fly.
Soar.
Soar prominently.
Just you wait and see!

Once upon a time, we felt so safe.
Safe out here in the country.
Watching them in the city,
Them in the hills,
Going stark mad.
Seemed absurd to think one day
The tanks could come rolling down our private, ol', country, dirt road.
Didn't even have to.
They had their war instruments comin', 24/7,
Filling the heads of the Young'n's,
Right there in our own living rooms.
Got their cameras everywhere,
Ain't got no privacy,
And people don't seem to care.

Folks around these parts been calling me a worldly Christian.
Been calling me a conspiracy theorist.
I tell 'em back, saying, 'you know them by their fruit'.
Well, it apply to institutions too.
Ain't in Christian charity to give up on God's creation too soon.
Ain't also so giving up on people who don't comprehend.
Who can't comprehend.
Sin's got a hold of 'em.
Ain't gonna' let 'em free.
Doing same it did to you and me.
Before we were ransomed, liberated, set free.
A personal liberty.

But can't you see it's the way it's always been?
Ain't no hope for worldly leadership.
Always turning to tyranny.
A good ruler will come,
Makes things as they ought to be.
Another follows, wickedly destroying the legacy.
Destined to be.
Only a few things we can count upon.
That is, Jehovah's supremacy, Christ's victory and the persistence of liberty.
Well know them by their fruits.
God Himself gave liberty roots.
One day soon, supermarkets gonna' overflow, gasoline reservoirs gonna' overflow. And checkbooks gonna' overflow.
Cities and the Hills gonna' be plowed into fields.
People gonna' rejoice.
Liberty's the only one who cares about us.
Same way Jehovah cares about us.
Live long,
Live free.
If we can grasp this elementary certainty,
As a world
And as a Church,
We'll find worldwide liberty.

See through the shame.
Liberty's gonna fly.
Soar.
Soar prominently.
