February 8, 2016:
I started the day by going to buffet breakfast at the casino. One of the employees at the hotel I was staying at recognized me from that movie about me. It was so nice of her to say hello and that she even remembered after so long. All of the employees there were great and the manager even offered me a ride to the casino in the morning. The tournament did not go that well. I lost my chips after about two or three hours. I was trying to play very conservatively. It wasn’t working for me. At a point, I folded a set of aces because a fourth diamond came on the turn. In the end, I got beat by a higher flush. My cards simply were not hitting. I’m not disappointed. I managed to have a lot of fun. It was fun. I was impressed with my play mostly because I thought every hand through and deliberated over what to do. I’m going home now. Looking forward to this week. To getting back to the gym and meeting with a few people. I worked out last night at the hotel but it wasn’t the same. Not the same machines and just doesn’t compare to being around others. I’m actually meeting with a friend for coffee who was part of my phase two at the Gatehouse. I’m looking forward to seeing her again. Looking forward to getting some real sleep tonight in my own bed.
Continuation: Right now, it’s 2AM. I am still wired from my time today. Even though I am mentally exhausted, physically I am energized. It’s fatiguing. I’m realizing more and more, especially over the last couple of months not being able to get to sleep until 4AM how important sleep is for me. Realizing everything about my body and mind’s functioning is impeded by lack of proper sleep. I am committing to getting to bed earlier and to improve the quality of my sleep.
